9 coastal homes under $650K you could move into today
In our new segment Property Buzz, presented by McCafe, Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli catches up with Michelle Myers who’s ready to clear the clutter, and downsize from her nine-bedroom family pad.
Saying goodbye to your family home ain’t easy – just think of all those memories you’ve created inside its four walls. Regardless, biting the bullet, pulling the plug… whatever you want to call it, the results are worth it.
“The most challenging part of downsizing is definitely the decluttering,” Michelle says. “I ran my business in my house for 20 years and things accumulate; nine bedrooms, double kitchens, five bathrooms; even filled modestly that’s overwhelming!”
Pondering the move to a smaller home, Michelle says there are certain non-negotiables she’s unwilling to compromise on.
“I want to be able to see the ocean — I’ve got that now and I don’t want to leave it behind. My daily ritual is swimming in an ocean pool. And I want a more cosmopolitan lifestyle than Newport. As I’ve got more time for play, I want to feel more connected to the community around me.”
If you’re anything like Michelle, you won’t be willing to compromise too much on space (there needs to be room for future grandkids, right?). The home also needs to be relaxing, with a beautiful outlook and preferably by the water. The good news? You can save a ton of cash by considering these coastal homes under $650,000 across Australia.
