Jellis Craig Ivanhoe auctioneer Kieran Whaley said the three-bedroom Moderne house was a “piece of history”, on the same street Mr Jennings built one of his first estates.
He added the vendors had styled it the same way the Australian Property Hall of Fame inductee would have, when living there with his family, including his son and ex-politician Doug Jennings.
Mr Jennings built the home during the early days of his namesake company, which developed house and land packages across Australia.
The adjoining house at 6 Melcombe Rd was used as the sales office.
Exposed timber, Art Deco green features in the bathroom, a bluestone patio and landscaped gardens packed the property full of charm.
Other highlights include a kitchen with modern appliances, a light-filled lounge and dining room.
The street is still full of clinker brink homes, which Mr Whaley compared to “an authentic Old English country estate”.
