Bay frontage helps Portarlington house set new price benchmark
A RARE Bellarine Peninsula property with absolute bay frontage has set a new street record in Portarlington.
The six-bedroom house with uninterrupted views, at 66 Ramblers Rd, sold for $1.265 million to interstate buyers.

The sale tops the previous highest price for the neighbouring house, No. 68, which sold for $1.12 million in 2014, according to CoreLogic.
Stockdale & Leggo, Portarlington agent John Walter said the premium price reflected the property’s prime waterfront position.
“The attraction for the buyers was the fact it’s one of the rare properties that has not got a road in front of it,” Mr Walter said.
“I don’t think there are too many properties in Victoria that have got that.
“It’s a rare breed and that is what tends to give them an exclusive price.”
Open-plan living areas on both levels of the two-storey house make the most of the bay views, with nothing but green space between the ground floor rumpus room and the water’s edge.
There’s also direct access to a walking track, which runs across the back of the house.
“The house all along there don’t tend to have fences,” Mr Walter said.
He said the buyers had relatives in Portarlington and felt it would make a good permanent base.
Other features of the property include three bathrooms and a six-car garage.
