Beachfront house in North Avoca sells after less than three weeks on the market to Sydney couple
A rare brick and tile home in a beachfront position has sold in North Avoca after only 18 days on the market.
This incredible feat is 45 per cent quicker than average median days on the market for homes in the suburb, according to CoreLogic.
The property at 8 Bareena Ave sold to a Sydney couple for $3.45 million, which was slightly less than the $3.5 million price guide.

The sale is also the highest price seen on the little street, eclipsing an old beach house facing Avoca Lagoon at 16 Bareena Ave, which sold in 2017 for $2.8 million.
George Brand Avoca Beach agent Matthew Ellis said the successful couple plan to use the home as a weekender for their family after an extensive search over the past 18 months.
“They’re not going to do a huge renovation on the property apart from a few minor touch ups at the moment,” he said.
Fielding more than 100 inquiries on the property, Mr Ellis said the buyer ended up competing against one local family for the keys during the negotiation stage. Over the campaign, interest came from mostly local and Sydney buyers.
“Locals seemed to be more interested in knocking the house down and building a new home, compared to Sydney buyers who were mostly happy with how it was as a weekender,” he said.

“Buyers also loved the direct access to the beach and how it was dog friendly, with dogs allowed off the leach at the lagoon.”
One of only a handful of homes close to the lagoon with direct beach access, the home has four bedrooms and an open-plan dining, living and kitchen area that open onto the back patio, with beach views from all angles.
Set on a quiet cul-de-sac, the home is positioned in the middle of Avoca Beach and North Avoca beach in walking to cafes, restaurants and shops.
