“A lot of people buying in this price bracket want to create their own home, so are looking for a blank canvas opportunity,” he said.
“This home is structurally sound and has so much potential for renovation. Someone might come along and do a quick reno for a weekender set up, or you could go up a level and build something more substantial.”
In its current state, the property offers four good size bedrooms and an open-plan dining, living and kitchen area that open onto the back patio, with beach views from all angles.
Set on a quiet cul-de-sac, the home is positioned in the middle of Avoca Beach and North Avoca beach in walking to cafes, restaurants and shops.
CoreLogic data indicates that North Avoca is one of the best suburbs to buy in for growth, with a healthy 15.2 per cent increase over a 12 month period.
Absolute beachfront homes on Bareena Ave have not hit the market in decades.
The highest price seen on the little street was on old beach house facing the lagoon at 16 Bareena Ave, which sold in 2017 for $2.8 million.
