Buyer snaps up home of Gold Coast designer Jared Poole before seeing it
A CHINESE buyer has snapped up the waterfront home of renowned Gold Coast designer Jared Poole without even stepping inside.
The Isle of Capri property, where Jared and his wife Donna have lived with their family for a decade, sold before it was scheduled to go to auction for $1.67 million.
Ray White Broadbeach agent Sam Guo, who marketed the property with Julia Kuo, said the buyer trusted them enough to make an offer without inspecting it first.
“The buyers bought it without seeing it,” he said.

“I think she’s going to move here, once the house settles she’ll move in.”
Mr Guo said there was another contract on the property a week earlier but it fell through.
The contemporary residence on Gibraltar Drive was rebuilt and redesigned by Mr Poole, who runs a self-titled design company on the Gold Coast.
It is characterised by high ceilings, chic fittings and an effortless flow between the indoor and outdoor living areas.
Mr Guo said its design attracted a lot of attention, helping it sell within three weeks of hitting the market.
“We had a very successful campaign,” he said.

“We had about 40 to 50 groups through in about three weeks.”
Ms Poole said in August, when the house hit the market, that it had been a wonderful waterfront home.
“It has been a great family home with great entertaining and great indoor outdoor living,” she said.
“The indoors spill seamlessly to the outdoor area with big stack-back doors.
“We have got a separate wing for the children and a separate wing for the adults, which is always nice.”
