AN outdoor entertainment area that created an additional living room on a Lara house drew a crowd of buyers at a weekend auction.

But a strong auction strategy by a couple returning to the neighbourhood close to the middle of the town cancelled the plans of other buyers to move in to the 653sq m property.

Ray White, Lara agent Matthew Wade-Taylor said the Lara couple made a strong opening bid for the four-bedroom house at 29 Lipson Drive, which dashed the hopes of three other interested buyers at Saturday’s auction.

“It was a good result there, it sold under the hammer at $620,000,” Mr Wade-Taylor said.

“We had a good crowd and had four interested buyers, but the bidders that won ended up the only one to bid,” he said.

“They put a strong first bid in and kind of knocked the rest of the crowd out.

“They are a local couple. They used to live in the area a while ago and loved the location and they really fell in love with the house and that entertaining area.”

The three-bedroom house has two separate living zones.

But the exterior is where the home’s real wow factor lay, with a fully equipped outdoor entertainment area with a built-in bar fridge, a stainless steel outdoor kitchen with a rangehood, modern lighting, cafe-style block out blinds and ceiling fans.

“It was beautiful,” Mr Wade-Taylor said.

“Honestly, it’s for all year round. It’s got heaters out there, a built-in barbecue, bar fridges, pull-down blinds — it had everything that it becomes another living area.”

Price hopes for the property had been $590,000 to $630,000.
