When Freeman offloaded the cliff-side beauty with a pool, the Sunday Herald Sun reported it attracted four bidders to soar $200,000 past expectations.

The 2006 article said the track and field icon sold up after buying a $2.2 million house in Brighton.

The selling agent this time around, Anton Zhouk Hawthorn director Anton Zhouk, said the “beautiful home” hadn’t changed too much since Freeman lived there.

The house is surrounded by greenery.

Mr Zhouk said the vendors had left the house’s structure the same, and just spruced up the interior and added bi-fold doors and a deck.

They’d loved living on one of the highest hills in Kew, boasting views across a valley to Raheen — rich listers the Pratt family’s historic mansion.

The vendors said they’d also remember the house as an “incredible entertainer” where it “feels like you’re living in the treetops”, with native birds, including tawny frogmouths, and fruit bats regular visitors.

The vendors are asking $3.4-$3.7 million.

The house features five bedrooms.

The property’s 1033sq m block has gardens at the front and back, the former featuring a pool, and is also near lifestyle perks including the Yarra, Kew Junction, Abbotsford Convent and Collingwood Children’s Farm.

Its spectacular views are on offer from three separate verandas, a balcony, and floor-to-ceiling windows in the open-plan living, kitchen and dining room.

An impressive main bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite, polished hardwood floors and a sauna are other highlights of the home.
