Close in acreage proves popular with high-end buyers
A beautiful acreage estate located in one the Hills most exclusive streets has reportedly sold for around $4m.
The prime 2ha property at 17 Wayfield Rd, Glenhaven was on the market for just over two weeks. It is among a number of prestige listings to sell in the district over the past month.
Agent William Brush from LJ Hooker Dural couldn’t confirm the sale price but said the property had attracted strong interest from qualified buyers.
“The best feature is its location, it is one of the closest acreages to the city and that always make it more sought after,” he said.
“It has such a pretty outlook — every window of the home has a view over a garden or grassed paddocks which was another positive.”
According to CoreLogic RP Data the acreage last sold for $400,000 in December 1985.
The sprawling residence, which is in original condition, has five bedrooms set in one wing — most of which have their own ensuite.
There is an open planned meals and lounge area off the kitchen, while the formal lounge area features raked timbers ceilings and a fireplace.
Outside is an enormous deck with solar heated swimming pool. It overlooks open lush green paddocks.
The property is located in the South Dural precinct also known by locals as the ‘Golden Triangle’ which stretches between Old Northern Rd, Hasting Rd to New Line Rd.
Plans to develop the area were raised in the early 1990s. The latest proposal to transform acreages in 2900 homes, however, was withdrawn last year.
Mr Brush said this has prompted a number of sales in the area as buyers look to move on rather than wait for rezoning.
“People know it is going to be a longer term plan and some of them are older people and it may not happen in their lifetime,” he said.
The street record is held by 15 Wayfield Rd which sold for $6.25m in July 2017.
