Colourful Preston pad paints an interesting picture
A kaleidoscopic home with funky interiors has hit the market for the first time in over fifty years.
The Californian bungalow with Art Deco finishes at 17 Hawking St, Preston has been owned by the one family since the mid-1900s.
The longstanding property has a price tag of $720,000-$790,000.

Love and Co agent Arthur Kokkinos said the property had beautiful features in a desirable location.
“The vendors have been there for quite a while,” Mr Kokkinos said.
“There’s a lot of emotion attached to the home and a lot of memories.
“But they are in a position where they want to move closer to family.”
At the front of the house are three bedrooms that share a family bathroom.
The separate lounge room features plush carpets and a gas fireplace, while at the rear the living area opens to a veranda and backyard with established gardens.
Mr Kokkinos said he wasn’t sure how the radiant colour scheme had come about.
“There’s different wallpapering and colours in each room,” Mr Kokkinos said.
“It’s a unique property in a prime pocket of Preston with friendly neighbours.
“It is well suited to a young family or couple.”
The property is set to go to auction on March 30.
While, just down the road, 11 Hawking St will go to auction on March 23.
