Long wait pays off for downsizers

Set on an enormous 959sqm block on the Tuggerah Lakes, the awe-inspiring property includes a glass mosaic concrete swimming pool with north facing outdoor barbecue area, a billiard room, two dining areas and a living room with a massive void, with all rooms taking in a breathtaking waterfront backdrop.

The house was architecturally-designed and built from scratch.

Built from scratch by the vendors, Diana Vrjlic said that her family fell in love with the lake when they moved from Sydney.

“This block of land ticked all the boxes for us — we were searching for four years before we found it,” she said.

The perfect time to sell is in spring, where the property ‘comes alive’ over the warmer months.

“Other than proximity to things, we chose Gorokan because it is so peaceful. Living near the water makes your senses become more aware and enhances your life. When we built, our focus was to capture the beautiful surroundings and create a piece of paradise for our family to enjoy.”

Built with natural resources including bluestone, limestone, calacatta marble and blackbutt timber that contrasts with a white background to let nature inspired features sing, the materials create balance with the remarkable absolute waterfront view.

Water views from almost everywhere in the house.

The kitchen includes an enormous wraparound island bench with seating for eight people and a butler’s pantry.

Features include marble benchtops and splashbacks, a sauna with commercial heater, Gold Leaf Chandeliers handmade in Portugal, LED lights and remote control water feature, European Limestone Feature walls, 156-bottle wine rack with liquor storage, real flame 1600 gas fireplace, gym area with storage and mounted TV with soundbar, outdoor entertaining with built in barbecue, fridge, and recessed heatstrips, solar panels and a tight security system.

The theatre room would go down well with the kiddies.

Mrs Vrjlic said that they wanted to list in spring, a great time of year to showcase her incredible home.

“The house is amazing in winter, but in summer it really transforms. So with the warmer months approaching, I think buyers can really appreciate what it’s all about,” she said.

About to hit the market with Wiseberry Heritage, the property has a price guide of $2.4 million to $2.6 million.

Agent Darin Butcher said that the property was unquestionably the finest home to ever hit the market on the Tuggerah Lakes system.

If it sells for the asking price, it will beat the suburb sales record in Gorokan by over $1 million. The record is currently held by a waterfront at 9 Arlunya Ave, which sold in 2017 for $1.35 million.

The Vrjlic family started and grew a trade supply business on the coast called THYNK, but have decided to move back to Sydney due to business expansion.
