Eltham rock star pad has house price record in sights
This spectacular home was more than six years in the making — and it’s now poised to break Eltham’s residential price record.
Morrison Kleeman director Rocco Montanaro said the three-year-old house’s size, newness, striking design and views over the Yarra River and Petty’s Orchard made it a worthy challenger to 110 Sweeneys Lane’s $3.5 million benchmark, set in an off-market deal last year.
The huge seven-bedroom home at 10 Kent Hughes Rd has a $3.5-$3.8 million price guide.

Mr Montanaro said the builder-owner, a director of local building company Billings Long, spent about six years getting planning approval to create the three-storey gem.
“There were quite a few hurdles they had to jump through, but they got there in the end,” he said.
Whoever bought the pad would reap the rewards of the vendor’s persistence, he added: “It’s so unique — it would take a long time to find another property like it.”
The Coldstream Stone facade and polished concrete floors are immediately eye-catching.
The kitchen is stacked with Liebherr and Ilve appliances, and the main bedroom has an ensuite, dressing room and gas-log fire.
The multiple living areas include a large rumpus room with a cocktail bar.
A three-sided infinity pool, a spa, floodlit tennis court and an alfresco area “resembling a Bali-style villa” complete the landscaped 3500sq m block.
The property’s expressions of interest campaign closes August 13.
