A Halekulani waterfront property sale has cracked the million dollar mark, which is the first time in 16 years for the suburb.

A property in Halekulani has cracked the million dollar mark – the first time that the northern lake suburb has seen such a sale 16 years.

The waterfront home at 83 Sunrise Ave was purchased by a local family for $1.025 million.

Agent Alan Ashburn from LJ Hooker Budgewoi said that the buyers loved the location on Lake Munmorah, which has a nature reserve running alongside.

The property is in a tranquil setting on Lake Munmorah.

There is a self-contained downstairs area, perfect for Airbnb.

“It’s almost like an acreage on waterfront, you can’t see any neighbours,” he said.

Set on a 784sqm block, the property includes five bedrooms, and a self contained lower level with potential for Airbnb.

Mr Ashburn said that Sunrise Ave, as well as Diamond Head Dr in nearby Budgewoi, were the best streets in the area right on the lake.
