After paying $1.247 million for the property in 1995, the Kenchs are now planning to downsize elsewhere. Mr Kench is the latest high profile lawyer to sell in Longueville, after former AMP legal counsel Brian Salter sold his waterfront property for around $10 million in May.
Occupying a 689sqm block, the home has established gardens and an outdoor spa, while a 107sqm waterfront allotment has a jetty, pontoon and original slipway.
Inside is five bedrooms, four bathrooms and parking for three. Other features include a wine cellar, study, media room and rumpus room.
Mrs Kench is known for her online store Casa Mondella, and Mr Kench has his own consultancy firm and is a former partner of Johnson, Winter and Slattery.
He specialises in mergers and competition law, with some of his clients including
BHP Billiton, Boral, SingTel and Unilever.
The property is also up the road from Shanghai United chairman Ping Wei and wife Ye Zhou, who are selling their Belcote Rd home with a $9.5 million guide.
