Hills head-turner just minutes from Hahndorf’s heart
A two hectare block near Hahndorf provided the ideal canvas for Jessie and Daniel Parry to build their perfect home – and they’re now offering the chance for someone else to share in their dream.
The couple built the four-bedroom Hamptons-inspired farmhouse, at 61a River Rd, in 2015, after securing their piece of rolling Adelaide Hills land, off River Rd, several years earlier.
“We just loved the location and the weatherboard-style look of the house suits the setting perfectly,” Mrs Parry says.

“We designed the house and it was built for us by the Heritage Building Group, where Daniel works as a carpenter. We tried to include what we could and it’s been an amazing place to live in. The open space is so good and we just love the privacy – but it’s also just so close to town.”
In fact, the bustling heart of Hahndorf is only a 20-minute walk away, with the Adelaide CBD just a short drive down the freeway.
The home offers the best in contemporary living, with 3.3m high ceilings, floating oak floors and built-in JAG storage adding to its overall sense of space. The master bedroom – complete with walk-in robe and ensuite – is at one wing of the home, with the other three bedrooms and bathroom at the other.
Packed with quality appliances and featuring a butler’s pantry, the light-filled kitchen opens up to an alfresco area and offers “amazing” views of the surrounding property.
Zoned ducted heating and cooling help ensure year-round comfort, while rainwater tanks are plumbed to the home.
Mrs Parry says with two young children – aged three years and six months – it was time to downsize to a smaller property.
“We’ll be sad to leave, but we’ll definitely stay in the hills – we love it up here,” she says.
The property is on the market with Harris Real Estate. Offers close Wednesday, July 31, at noon.
