IVE Group chairman Geoff Selig selling in Potts Point
IVE Group executive chairman Geoff Selig bought his Potts Point apartment at the peak of the boom, did a reno and then fell in love with an something else in Darlinghurst’s Horizon.
Having bought that for $5.5m last August, the now very stylish three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with dream harbour views that he bought for $4.250,000 in November 2017 at 14/22 Wylde St is up for auction.
The apartment has been transformed, with the kitchen replaced, the bedrooms spruced up and the floors redone.
Ray White Double Bay’s Nic Krasnostein with $4.5m guide ahead of the April 17 auction.
“No-one’s even lived in the apartment since the refurbishment,” Mr Krasnostein said.
Given the market downturn, you might have expected Mr Selig was set to take a hit on it the 183 sqm unit.
But perhaps not.
Mr Krasnostein is reporting strong interest in it from young professionals and downsizers, with Potts Point faring better than many other suburbs.
And given that, according to property records, printing magnate Michael Hannan achieved $6,025,000 for his three-bedder at unit 16 last May — although that was 100 sqm bigger at 280 sqm — Mr Selig could do quite well.
