The land size of 23 Dunkeith Ave, Jan Juc appealed to buyers.

MULTIPLE offers for a Jan Juc property with direct parkland access are an encouraging sign for the Surf Coast housing market.

Local buyers paid $965,000 to secure the three-bedroom house on a 788sq m block at 23 Dunkeith Ave.

The main living area has timber floors.

One Agency, Torquay agent Shaun O’Callaghan said the owner-occupiers were one of several parties to put forward offers.

The formal loungeroom overlooks the front garden.

He said potential buyers were attracted to the land size and good bones of the house overlooking Jan Juc Reserve.

“I think once people see value they are out there and get involved in discussion and negotiations,” Mr O’Callaghan said.

“With multiple offers, it’s activity that we would have expected in the middle of 2018.

“We should say though, it’s not the overall state of the market. There are some sales that aren’t performing as well.”

The house has a sunken living zone with doors onto a covered deck taking in backyard views.

There’s an ensuite bathroom to the main bedroom and a double garage with a carpeted studio/home office.

Mr O’Callaghan said multiple offers were also received for another property at 6 Malibu Place, Torquay.

An investor bought the refurbished, four-bedroom house built by Dennehy for $760,000.

“It shows the confidence that investors see on the Surf Coast,” he said.
