Limestone mansion with a curvaceous design for sale
Peppered with intricate timberwork, handcrafted furniture and stunning curved architecture, this East Perth masterpiece is a reflection of the owners’ astounding craftsmanship.
When Phillip and Sheila Goodison embarked on an ambitious project to create their family home at 4 Haig Park Circle 16 years ago, a labour of love in the truest sense transpired.
An artisan who has lectured in building construction, cabinet making and furniture design, Phillip designed and built the home with the support of his wife and family.
“It has been a great joy for Sheila and I to have had the involvement of our children throughout the building process,” Phillip says.
“What we do is more of a passion, we just enjoy being creative and working together.”
Set on a 201sqm corner block with 412sqm of living space, the five bedroom, three bathroom residence makes the most of space, spanning four levels with a classic, timeless design that flows with its curvaceous design and spiral staircases.
The unique limestone home, which has a slate roof and cobblestone courtyard, showcases natural travertine, a plethora of timber and enjoys a wealth of light.
From the second floor, the staircase enjoys atrium views, while double doors open out to the master bedroom, headlined by a cathedral-esque dome ceiling, private balcony and claw-foot bath in the ensuite.
The couple has reluctantly decided to sell, citing that the time has come to downsize.
“It has been a huge and long decision (to sell) but we plan to create another home on a much smaller scale. We will be so sad to leave,” Phillip says.
There is also a ducted-vacuum and intercom.
Selling agent Brendan Smith, from LJ Hooker City Residential, is taking offers.
