Live among the treetops in this light-filled stunner
Do you believe in love at first sight? Polly Penney certainly does. Or so the story goes when she first set foot in her Crafers West home five-and-a-half years ago.
She and husband Rick had been living and working in Oman, with Polly returning early to find a suitable property in the Adelaide Hills.

How’s THIS for a renovation project?
“My husband was still overseas when I came to look at this house,” she says.
“I don’t know why I did because the photographs looked horrible but I walked in, and I immediately knew it was the right house. Sometimes it just gets you, and it got me.
“I loved the space around it. We needed a house that was easy to maintain but still had a beautiful garden.
“So I walked out of the house … rang my husband and told him this was it. So we bought the house before he ever got to see it.”
Luckily, Rick loved the home as much as his wife did and together, the couple set out to renovate and extend the property to their liking.
Set on a spacious 2284sqm block, the home features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and open-plan living spaces. The centrepiece is a stunning, brand-new cook’s kitchen with stone bench tops and Miele and SMEG appliances.
Outside, a number of alfresco zones await, as does a mature and reticulated garden with its own exotic fruit orchard.
Ms Penney says she would miss the home and all its offerings.
“I will, more than anything, miss the openness of the home and the proximity to Stirling,” she says.
“It’s been a wonderful place to live.”
The property is for sale through Harcourts Williams, in conjunction with Hunt Lifestyle.
