Melbourne’s ‘Love Map’ reveals most romantic suburbs
Melbourne florist Flowers Across Melbourne has announced this year’s most romantic suburbs – and you may be surprised who tops the list!
Those living in the Melbourne CBD have been declared Melbourne’s most romantic, with Mulgrave and Mount Waverley playing surprise close second and third. The heat map is based on the volume of Valentine purchases of predominantly red rose bouquets over the past two weeks shown in real-time on Melbourne’s Love Map.

Flowers Across Melbourne sent out over 15,000 stems of roses last Valentine’s Day, with Hawthorn and Brunswick residents spending more than 1.25 times the average. The number of roses sold last year would, laid end to end, stretch halfway from Sydney to Melbourne.
Rob Lambert, CEO at Flowers Across Melbourne says that the usual suspects are selling well, with the top sellers including the Single Rose with Chocolate, Roses and Lillies and the 6 Red Rose Bouquet.
“From putting on extra fridge space, to ramping up our delivery drivers and florists working across Valentine’s week, we’re all hands are on deck to ensure we bring smiles and warm hearts all over Melbourne!” Mr Lambert said.
“Usually we close orders on the afternoon of 12 February to ensure we can fulfill all orders, so we always recommend to pre-order as much as possible to avoid disappointment.”
“On Valentine’s Day we’ll send nearly 20,000 stems of roses this year, with both the traditional red rose and also our rainbow roses, which are increasing in popularity every year.”
