Mosman home that looks just like a gingerbread house sells in days
A wonderful family home reminiscent of the gingerbread house from the fairytale Hansel and Gretel has found its happy ending.
It took more than 20 years for the property to come to market, but just a few days — and one open home — to find it a new owner.

The Oaks owner selling historic home
Buyers fell in love with the fairytale home, said Kate Galetto, of Galetto Real Estate Mosman.
“It’s a beautiful little house, it really is, and it just grabbed people,” she said.
The c1930, four-bedroom home sits on a pocket-sized 316sqm block at 37 Upper Avenue Rd, Mosman, and has been in the same ownership for 21 years.
Ms Galetto said the owners had raised their own family in the house.
Within days of listing the property, she was inundated with prospective buyers.
She opened the house for the first time on Saturday, and some 20 groups inspected it. The home sold on Sunday to a local family.
Ms Galetto would not reveal the sale price or the identity of the buyer. However the home reportedly sold for more than its $3.3 million guide.
The home is set over three levels and has a modern layout that is practical and functional, providing valuable separation of living areas with the kitchen, family room and lounge.
The sandstone-encased lower level has a rumpus area in the garage space, which is ideal as a teenage retreat or games room.
The home has been leased in the past, and attracted a weekly rent of $1950. It was due to go to auction on September 21.
