Entry to North Shore Estate’s Discovery Village

BUYING property can be similar to getting seats at a rugby match; everyone wants a good one, and no one is looking for a dodgy deal on location.

Townsville’s North Shore Estate has recently released eight new lots in its ‘corporate box’ of villages — and they are good value.

The land release is located on Magellan St in the estate’s Discovery Village, with blocks ranging in size from 416sq m to 637sq m and prices starting at $119,000.

North Shore project director Andrew Astorquia said the village currently was the most popular among buyers in the estate due to its location and value.

“We have three lots under contract and have had quite a bit of interest over the past two weeks, given the value in the house and land packages and the proximity to amenity that this stage has,” Mr Astorquia said.

“These home sites are in a fantastic location just a short walk from the new North Shore State School and planned retail precinct.

“They are also surrounded by quality parks and playgrounds.”

Estate developer Stockland is adding to the appeal by offering buyers $5000 off land that settles before the end of June, which is something Mr Astorquia believes will be an incentive for first home buyers. “This land release will be particularly attractive to first home buyers who can also take advantage of the Queensland government’s first homeowners grant of up to $15,000,” he said.

“With the house and land packages, those eligible first home buyers could be in a brand new four-bedroom home, with two living areas in a dream location for just $334,800 when combined with the Stockland offer.

“Any first home buyers who think they can’t get into the property ladder or are sick of renting someone else’s home may be surprised by the affordability of this release and I encourage them to come out to the North Shore display village and find out more.”

North Shore’s master planned community is aimed at families and is focused on promoting active living and sustainability.

Once complete, it will be home to 15,000 residents across its four villages — Sunhaven, Discovery, Horizon and MODE.

“Each village is unique in the housing type, lot size and look and feel,” Mr Astorquia said.

“While we have land available in the other villages, the Magellan release is our newest land release in our Discovery village.”
