A BUYER has paid top dollar for the ultimate tree change, a secluded retreat with stunning ocean and mountain views at the top of the Otways.
Competition from two parties pushed up the sale price of the two-bedroom house at 245 Busty Rd, Apollo Bay to $1.005 million.
Great Ocean Properties, Apollo Bay agent David Ellis said the asking price for the elevated 4.2ha property had been $995,000 but the Melbourne buyers were prepared to pay more for the sweeping views on offer from one of the highest points on Busty Rd.

“It was basically the views, they are stunning, you can actually see the surf hitting the sand and you have also got beautiful mountain views,” Mr Ellis said.
He said the surrounding trees created a private and tranquil “little oasis” which attracted a phenomenal amount of inquiry during the month-long campaign.
The house has been used as a holiday home, with the vendors renovating the bathroom and laundry and installing a full-sized kitchen.
The ground level features a large open-plan living, dining and kitchen area with a timber cathedral ceiling and large windows to capture the views.
Two large bedrooms are split between the two levels.
Mr Ellis said the new owners would initially use the property as a holiday house with a view to moving in permanently down the track.
