A luxury house with its very own airstrip and hangar has sold to a helicopter pilot from Sydney for $5.39 million at auction.

The property at 20744 Pacific Highway in Johns River on the NSW north coast had 16 registered bidders and sold in front of 60 people.

There were 16 registered bidders keen to snap up the home.

A total new build having been completed in November 2018, the most amazing feature is arguably the 1100m airstrip, which is fully lit and approved meaning day and night flying is permitted.

There was interest locally as well as from Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia. On top of this, expats in Hong Kong and another in the Middle East both inquired about the home.

The luxury home was completed in late 2018.

The airstrip also comes with a hangar that has housed six or seven aircraft in the past, while the property also comes with some of the finest equine facilities including stables, a round yard and arena.

The house itself is just as special, with the elevated aspect providing amazing views of the surrounds, a custom-built theatre, a gym and bar decked out with cars and a road painted on the floor.

Inside is just as impressive.

Selling agent Rob Chapman of Ray White Manning Valley said the previous owner had used the strip daily and regularly hosted fly-in days for family and friends.

”There are just no comparable sales around” Mr Chapman said at the time of listing.

The new owner is sure to take advantage of the hangar.

“There has never been a property like that go up for sale in this region. We see a lot of special properties but the combination available is without a doubt unique.”
