Architect Nick Tobias and author Miranda Darling have reached a ‘private agreement’ on their $20 million home as Young Rich Lister Nick Molnar has paid $10m for a Ben Buckler penthouse.

With the couple separating, the luxury four-bedroom, three-bathroom home with double garage that Mr Tobias designed at 124 Brighton Boulevard, North Bondi was listed with ambitious $20 million hopes in March via Raine and Horne Double Bay principal Ric Serrao.

Mr Serrao, who had interest at just under $16 million, refused to comment and the house is still listed on realestate.com.au.

But sources say the property, purchased in Ms Darling’s name, is effectively off the market with Ms Darling to retain ownership.

The couple have been approached for comment.

Core Logic records show the property was purchased for $7.05 million in 2014 with council approval given for the rebuild and pool a year later.

Meanwhile, property records show that a penthouse in a new block of three in nearby Hastings Pde has sold to the wife of Afterpay’s Nick Molnar, interior designer Gabrielle, for $10 million.

It’s believed Mr Molnar, 29, who has a net worth of more than $400 million, has simply put the property in his wife’s name.

Mr Serrao is understood to have made the off-market deal, but refused to discuss it when contacted.

The Young Rich Lister co-founded the digital service firm that makes it possible to buy something now and pay it off in fortnightly instalments with Anthony Eisen, 47.

However, last month Mr Molnar stepped down from his position, with Mr Eisen to replace him as CEO and managing director of the company.

Molnar has taken up the new position of global chief revenue officer.
