Renovation revitalises Gold Coast home
RENOVATING this waterfront home was a labour of love for Jaya and Mark Taylor.
The couple bought the Midshipman Court property about six years ago with a makeover in mind.
“We wanted to live on the water but also we wanted a project,” Mr Taylor said. “When we got the house, it was old fashioned.”
The house was gutted and the outdoor area stripped back so the pair could put their own touch on the property, and the result is nothing short of luxurious.
Coastal finishes and a contemporary style have been expertly blended to recreate the breathtaking property.
A fireplace in the living area is a standout feature while a media room is the perfect spot for movie marathons.
Bi-fold doors offers a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living.

Spanish tiles surround the pool while a customised marine grade stainless steel barbecue kitchen are ideal for entertaining guest.
“We just didn’t want to comprise in any way,” Mrs Taylor said.
The walls of windows and canal views were what Mr Taylor loved most about the house but Mrs Taylor said it was the feeling she got while inside the house that made it special.
“It’s a very liberating feeling when you walk into the house,” she said. They said it was sad to move but it was too big for them.
The property is listed with a $2.95 million price.
