Rustic cottage offers a ‘low entry’ into desirable North Adelaide
It might look like it belongs in the English countryside, but this charming cottage can be found in one of Adelaide’s most desirable suburbs.
The former coach house, at 4 Taskers Lane,
North Adelaide, is advertised with a price guide of $790,000 to $830,000 – $335,000 below the suburb’s median house price of $1.165 million, according to CoreLogic.

Buyers are hungry for unconventional homes
Martin Real Estate selling agent Colin Martin said the property had attracted a strong response from buyers.
“We’ve had a lot of local people that are keen,” he said.
“It’s got a bit of ground around it, there’s lawn and fruit trees – so that makes it a little interesting.”
Mr Martin said the coach house was a replication of an English cottage and had beautiful attention to detail.
“It was originally part of an old property that was at the front,” he said.
“Then it was purchased about 40 years ago and the property was totally refurbished.
“They used timbers out of the Port Adelaide wool sheds to create all of the exposed beams and it has Baltic floors as well.”
The cottage features a quaint kitchen and dining room, a cosy lounge, a laundry, a bathroom, two bedrooms on a mezzanine and access to a neat pergola overlooking the gardens.
Located in the heart of North Adelaide, Mr Martin said the property offered “a low entry” into the desirable suburb.
“Usually properties in North Adelaide are grand, this is more affordable and palatable to the average buyer,” he said.
“Very rarely you see something this small with some land. It’s also on it’s own title and you’re tucked away in a private pocket – you could be anywhere.”
North Adelaide has experienced a 35.1 per cent growth in median house price over the last 12 months to June 2019, according to CoreLogic.
