Stable investment for horse lovers at Lower Hermitage
A Lower Hermitage property offers a rare rural lifestyle opportunity, with the benefits of the suburbs only minutes away.
Vendors Andrew and Rachel Wood – who purchased the 22-acre property in November 2007 – have used it primarily to breed Friesian horses; adding extra fencing and shedding to suit.

“I think it will obviously probably suit anyone who’s interested in horses,” Mr Wood says. “But you can configure the fences to suit other forms of livestock or a hobby-farm type arrangement.
“There’s so much water as well, and the dam is completely full after the recent rain.”
The striking house was built in the late 1980s and offers four bedrooms – the main with a walk-in robe and ensuite – and an extensive living area.
Having put the house on the market because of an interstate work transfer, Mr Wood hopes the next owners get as much enjoyment from the property as they did. “Hopefully it will be the right home for someone else,” he says
“We’ve loved every moment of living there. It’s been fantastic really. Probably the biggest thing I take from it is that you’re out there with the kangaroos, the koalas and the deer … but you’re only seven or eight minutes from St Agnes Shopping Centre, 12 minutes from Tea Tree Plaza and half an hour from Adelaide Oval.
“You have all the things people like to do living in the suburbs, but you go over two hills and you feel like you’re in the country.”
