Stunning house with ocean, bush views rewrites record book in Apollo Bay
THE sale of a stunning house in Apollo Bay’s premium street has set a new residential price record for the town.
Buyers from country Victoria have forked out $1.48 million for the two-storey holiday house at 38 Noel St.
The location, on the northern side of the coveted street, has some of the best ocean and mountain views in Apollo Bay.

Ocean and mountain views prove an irresistible combination in Apollo Bay
Great Ocean Properties, Apollo Bay agent Gary Van Someren said the result was the highest price ever paid for a standard residential property in the town.
“It’s a record sale for the township of Apollo Bay, we have had other higher sales but they have been on acreage out of town,” Mr Van Someren said.
He said the previous three sales records had all been in Noel St, cementing its place as one the town’s most desirable.
CoreLogic records show the previous top sale was at 26 Noel St, which sold for $1.35 million in 2012. Another five-bedroom house at No. 29 sold for $1.24 million in March this year.
“The north-facing side of that street is really the premium location,” Mr Van Someren said.
The custom designed house at No. 38 features a central Margaret River limestone wall, recycled messmate floorboards and big picture windows to the north and east to frame the views.
Upstairs is designed for outdoor entertaining with an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room opening onto a large deck, also accessible from the main bedroom suite.
There’s three further bedrooms, a shared bathroom and a three-car garage with a workshop downstairs, with a lift to link the two floors.
