Four architectural wonders for sale on Pittwater on the northern beaches.

Prominent architect Mark Hurcum has been building homes on the northern beaches for 30 years but his latest cluster of four homes on Newport’s waterfront brings together everything he has learnt over three decades.

“They are the most amazing homes I have every built, the most sophisticated and the easiest to live in,” he said.

Four very different homes have been built in a sheltered pocket on Pittwater, two on the waterfront and two at street level. Mr Hurcum has retained one of the four for himself but the other three are just completed and for sale.

Number 6a Mitala St is on 785sqm of land, has a right of way to the water and views of Pittwater. The three to four bedroom home has dramatic curves and an exceptional level of finish. It is being marketed by LJ Hooker Palm Beach.

The second four-bedroom house is 8a Mitala St, it has waterfront access to the four home’s private jetty and the designer home has a flexible floorplan, elevator, zoned airconditioning and heated lap pool. Each of the homes have lap pools, internal lifts, are solar-powered with solar hot water, have state of the art fit-outs and are squarely aimed at empty nesters wanting low-maintenance yet luxury living.

“The single biggest luxury is time,” Mr Hurcum said.

“These homes are easy to live in, have a great indoor/outdoor living, privacy and security. We have thought about how you bring in the groceries and do your washing. We want to give owners more time to do what they want, not what they have to do,” he said.

Being so close to the water there are captivating views of Pittwater and the spot is quiet, yet still within easy reach of the shops and restaurants at Newport and south of the Bilgola Bends.

“I didn’t realise until I started to build here what a special and sheltered spot this is,” Mr Hurcum said.

“You are protected from the winds, connected to the peninsula and incredibly private,” he said.
