Interest rates are low, first home buyers will soon to have access to five per cent deposits, and experts have declared ‘now is the time to buy real estate in Townsville.’

So it’s understandable to be intrigued about getting into the property market, and with the Townsville Home Buyer’s Expo on this weekend — it’s the perfect opportunity to find out how to do it.

the free event will serve as an information hub for those wanting to find out how they can secure finance, build, invest and buy property in the region.

Director of the Home Buying Helpers, and Next Level Land Marketing Jess Baker, is the event coordinator, and identified the need for the expo after continuously being approached by overwhelmed buyers.

“It’s a good opportunity to get well-known local businesses in the industry under the same roof and educate the Townsville community if they are looking at buying a house, on how to do it,” Ms Baker said.

“It’s definitely targeted towards first-home buyers or those that are looking at investing in the region and just don’t know where to start or where to go.”

“If you have any questions in regards to buying a house, the answers will be there.”

Local residents Kristy Holst and her husband (who didn’t want to be named), attended the Home Buyers Expo last year, which set them on the path of securing finance, and building their new home which they recently received the keys to.

“Going to the first home buyers expo was rather daunting as it was the start of our journey and we still hadn’t made the choice if we were going to buy or build,” Ms Holst said.

“It was all a rather daunting task making the decision, but once I was there and met a couple of the stall holders I was put at ease and I recommend anyone who is wanting to become a homebuyer to go check it out as it put a lot of our questions to rest.”

This will be the third year that the event is held and will take place today from 12pm and tomorrow from 10am at The Ville Resort-Casino.
