Sold — 12 Morella Rd, Whale Beach.

Whale Beach hit the headlines in February this year when it became the first northern beaches suburb to join the $5 million. And it’s latest $8 million-plus sale is an absolute stunner.

And the most recent sale this week of 12 Morella Rd, has further consolidated this standing.

The resort-style home, completed in 2016, had been on the market with a guide of $8,000,000-$8,500,000.

Property lift is on its way

David Edwards, of LJ Hooker Palm Beach, said he could not reveal the exact sale price but that it had sold within the guide.

It is believed to be the highest price paid for a Whale Beach property since the sale of 15 Malo Rd, in March, 2017, for $8,160,000.

Views to dine for.

And privacy.

Living space.

Mr Edwards said the buyer owned a holiday home in the area and wanted to move to Whale Beach permanently.

It is a trend agents are seeing more and more, as the demographic of Whale Beach and Palm Beach area shifts from holiday playground to the rich and famous, to a community of permanent residents who are drawn to the area for the privacy it offers.

“The tyranny of distance used to be the achilles heel for selling property up here,” Mr Edwards said.

“Now that distance from the city is what is drawing people here.”

By night.

Sweet dreams.

Living.

The Morella Rd property is pure trophy home, and has spectacular views over Whale Beach from every corner.

The four-level home has expansive glass wrapped interiors and floating timber ceilings that bring an effortless blending of the internal living spaces and the outdoor decks.

There are with lounges on three levels, a wet-edged mosaic pool and heated spa, and stunning kitchen with thick Calacatta marble benchtops, butlers’ pantry and world-class appliances.

Solid home.

Cosy up.

Dusk shot.

If you don’t want to cook, it’s an easy walk to the high-end Jonah’s Restaurant.

Privacy is a big feature of the property — there are no neighbours to the north and native bushland to the south.

The home is on 765sqm, with dual access from both Morella Rd and Bynya Rd.

This is only the second house to sell in Whale Beach this year. There are currently only five properties on the market, four of them with LJ Hooker Palm Beach.
