This property is the first to sell in Windsor Downs this year

A palatial Victorian style residence with a nine car garage has become the first property this year to sell in the suburb of Windsor Downs.

The single level residence set on 1.55ha at 59 Willeroo Drive, in the Hawkesbury District, fetched $2.25m. It is the third highest residential sale to be recorded in the suburb.

Agent Will Hampson from Lumby Hampson Real Estate at Dural took on the listing in January.

The property has a wrap around veranda

The home known as ‘Castle Park’ had been on the market for two and a half years with other agents. It sold last week to a Chinese based buyer who now plans on relocating to Sydney.

“The suburb is a bit of a hidden gem, people outside of the Hawkesbury don’t realise that Windsor Downs is not just an estate, it is actually a suburb with a small population,” Mr Hampson said.

“It is mostly made up of small acreages and that is attractive to buyers looking to downsize from larger surrounding properties or for those coming off residential and wanting more space.”

The billiards room

There are just 330 homes in located in Windsor Downs. It surrounded by Berkshire Park, Castlereagh, Marsden Park and Vineyard.

The homestead, which features a wrap around veranda, was modelled on period homes in the Parramatta district. It includes three metre high ceilings, ornate cornices, cedar french doors and polished timber flooring.

The spa bath is a centrepiece of the bathroom

There is a large billiards room with bar, a granite kitchen and four large bedrooms. There is also an elevated spa.

Outside is an entertainment area with built-in barbecue and woodfire pizza oven plus an American style barn.

The property, which also has an orchard, is located less than a 15 minute drive to Windsor CBD and is 20 minutes to Rouse Hill.

The home has an enormous garage

“The quality of the build was exceptional because it was custom designed and with great attention to detail — people really loved the ornate features,” Mr Hampson said.

“We had a number of interested buyers but these particular purchasers really appreciated what the property had to offer and just fell in love with the home.”

According to CoreLogic RP Data, the record residential price in Windsor Downs is $2.4m paid for 8 Denison Place in February 2017.
